MILANO 2011 – The project consists in the transformation of a historic farmhouse in a cohousing community  single mothers in need and volunteer families. The main objective of the project is the provision of spaces that can facilitate the construction and strengthening of a community. The existing farmhouse is restored to house all the common areas and physically and spiritually it is called to be the heart of the community. The apartments are designed as modules that can be aggregated, gather around the farmhouse and open toward the center of the courtyard / garden, facilitating the monitoring and sharing of space rather than isolation and privacy. The distribution paths to the apartments and the terraces are interconnected in overlapping loops that intersect the common areas of the farmhouse and offer a variety of complex relational spaces.
