Zanzibar Coral Blue
ZANZIBAR 2013 – Coral Blue Hotel and Villas is a valorisation plan for a 15 years old resort on the east cost of Zanzibar. The proposed strategic framework include a general re-branding, a regeneration plan for the hotel, to be refurbished for a multi-star hosting offer, and a new development plan for the southern part of the property, dedicated to private villas overlooking the Indian Ocean. The new development is divided in two parts due to the topography of the site and each part has dedicated services and it is divided in plots to be built according to the clients desires. The typological scheme proposed for the villas is a flexible layout based on the local Swahili characters with this objectives: integration with the natural context, personalization and unicity of each clients solution, variability and expandability over time. A set of rooms modules have been designed to be assembled according to the topography, views, palms positions and clients desires. Some complete villas samples have been designed. Dispositive and constructive solutions for the villas are designed to promote favorable microclimatic conditions and ecological attention, especially through passive systems and exploitation of renewable energy.
